Industrial Electrical Installation Testing
Electrical testing is required on industrial buildings for safety and efficiency, after a few years the usage on industrial buildings can be hard wearing on electrical
installations and can cause damage and deterioration much quicker than in domestic buildings due to demand.
Systems need to be regularly checked to ensure that they continue to operate properly. Our testing engineers inspect systems to check operational effectiveness, identify weaknesses and recommend solutions before potential faults lead to breakdown.
With more electrical machinery being used in factories, manufacturing businesses, heavy industry and other industrial properties it is more important than ever to make sure that your electrical installation is complying with the current Wiring Regulations. Additional electrical equipment, motors, computers and even microwaves and kettles can put a strain on your electrics when used daily. This can add risk of deterioration of wires and cause loose wiring which can lead to electrical shocks and even electrical fires.
Types of industrial testing include PAT Testing, BS7671 Testing and Periodic test inspections and thermal imaging, although depending on your building and the usage we can advise you on the best industrial tests. Industrial testing has to be carried out by an experienced electrical engineer who have experience in this type of electrical testing, if the person conducting the test is not qualified then the test will not be valid.
XS Engineering will arrange a convenient schedule to do the testing, as all electrical circuits may need to be switched off, we will try to carry out the tests with as little disruption to your business as possible. Once the test has proven everything to be safe and compliant then you can be safe that your building is not at risk and your insurance will be valid we will provide you with a full report on completion and a quotation of any remedial works if required.
Following completion of testing, the results are presented in a high quality bound report which includes the following documentation:
- Test Results
- BS7671 IEE Certificate
- Detailed circuit assessment sheets
- Survey report (general site faults)
- Survey report (specific faults, locations & suggested solutions relating to distribution boards and circuits)
- Laminated "self-adhesive" circuit assessment sheets (if required)
- CAD or Visio electrical distribution drawings (if required)
- Dangerous conditions report forms
