XS Engineering where appointed by London architects on behalf of leading commercial property developers to design a new electrical installation for the refurbishment of a substantial warehouse distribution centre near Gatwick airport which forms part of a 486 acre business park.
The new installation included the design of a private 15,000 KVA substation, a 2,500 Amp LV switchboard cubicle, 18 distribution boards, submain cables and final circuits for high-bay lighting, motors and general small power.
The majority of cabling utilised was steel wired armour cable (SWA) installed both on steel cable tray and buried underground.
We provided CAD schematic power distribution drawings, cable calculations, CAD schematic drawings for each distribution board and detailed working drawings for the landlord’s main switch room and earthing arrangements—everything required for the electrical contractors to complete the installation.
The project was successfully completed on time and on budget within 21 days.
